Westin invests in its Huddersfield site

British manufacturer of cooker hoods Westin has announced a substantial investment in additional property adjoining its Huddersfield head office site.

Westin has been manufacturing at Phoenix Mills since 1921. The new purchase is of adjoining property, Grove Works, increasing Westin’s space from 22,000 square feet to 76,000 square feet.

The investment in this site adds to the refurbishment already seen at the Phoenix Mills site over the past three years, to support the continuing growth of the Westin business.

The extra space will be used in different areas, including warehousing, design, innovation, test facilities and improvements to paint facilities for the range of cooker hoods. Westin’s directors anticipate that eventually, the new building will also incorporate more office space with expanded meeting rooms and a showroom.

Managing Director’s Ian Sheppard said:

“We are very happy that this is another exciting forward step for Westin. This investment in infrastructure will allow us the additional facilities to further develop this technology and more. Many of our 38 members of staff are local folk so, as a team, we are particularly delighted to further embed the Westin brand in its home town of Huddersfield.”
