beautiful contemporary

The ultimate goal for a kitchen designer is for a historic client to return directly to you when they fancy a change of kitchen scenery, especially when the new design offers a designer the chance to really flex their creative muscles.

Turn the clock back ten years, and Oli Moss, senior design consultant at Roundhouse design designed and supplied a beautiful contemporary pure white kitchen to a London client that ticked all of their boxes. So much so, that ten years later they asked Oli to do the same again… with a few little differences.

luxury & modern

Having visited the Roundhouse Wigmore Street showroom and seen the multitude of amazing new finishes and techniques, the clients decided that the new kitchen would benefit from the same expert craftsmanship, but aesthetically would be the complete opposite of their previous kitchen.

The design started off with a basic brief. Dark, moody shades, metallics and contrasts. Add into the mix three different kitchen styles, veneered, lay on and in frame classic, and it’s fair to say this was a tricky brief.

Oli blended four brass finishes with deep blue cabinetry and two types of worktops, Caesarstone rugged concrete as a contrast to the blue in the cooking area, and an African natural fusion quartzite for the island. This was beautifully paired with antique brass to make a real statement of the island.

The result

A Westin bespoke wall mounted hood was specified for the cooking area which was decided would be painted in Farrow & Ball Manor house grey to provide a beautiful contrast to the deep green tiles in the immediate area. The hood was finished of with hand polished brass detailing to the plinth.

The result is a perfect blend of styles, finishes, colours and materials that work in perfect harmony with each other. Roll on kitchen number three!
